Spirit of Gentleness is a nod to a hymn I quite like - featured prominently in my church's hymn book. It strikes me as a key message of hope. If a spirit of gentleness actually blew through us and everyone around us, there would be many things we wouldn't have to worry about - greed, anger, loneliness, hunger...
If we were all gentle with each other, I'm convinced that the world would truly be a different place.
Let me be clear though, I think the world is a magical place already. I think we're surrounded by incredible spirits - particularly in times of pain and suffering. The human spirit is alive with love and caring. I just wonder what it would be like if all our actions came out of the same gentle place.
As a first post to this blog, I hope to create a space, if only for me, to reflect on the world from a progressive, Christian place. My posts may not be regular, but I will keep a connection as often as I can.
